Dallas TX, July 24, 2017: United Oil & Gas Corp is pleased to announce the start of its 2017 work program.
Work has begun on the Hilltop Field with the goal of establishing an engineered secondary recovery. The program consists of re-establishing 4-6 producing wells, 1 water supply well and 2-3 water injection wells. The company plans to initiate secondary recovery by injecting water from the water supply well into 2-3 injection wells as parts of a planned, engineered waterflood.
The principal reason for waterflooding an oil reservoir is to increase the oil-production rate and, ultimately, the oil recovery. This is accomplished by “voidage replacement”—injection of water to increase the reservoir pressure to its initial level and maintain it near that pressure.
Initial production from this lease can be expected as early as October 2017.
We are commited to developing the Project in an environmentally responsible manner.
